We all have human relationships and friendships that we sometimes disappoint and let down, and yes, it’s not something that we want to be known for. Here are 5 simple ways to redeem yourself and stay in their good books.
Pen an Apology and Send It with Their Favourite Chocolate Bar
This is a simple gesture but will go a long way to showing contrition and an apology for the slight. If there’s something that you’ve done wrong or they are annoyed with you, write the apology in an old school style, on paper with a pen, or better yet, on a card and then present it with their favourite chocolate bar.
Buy Them Flowers
Be sure that there are no allergies or hay fever issues and then find out, if you don’t know, what their favourite flowers are and ensure that you get a large enough bunch to make it spectacular. Ordering luxury flowers and having them delivered to their home, or better yet, their office, will result in a serious amount of brownie points and immediate relocation out of the dog house. There is nothing like receiving flowers in a public space and it makes the person feel extra special.
Do Their Chores
Plan a day or an entire week when you do all their chores in and around the house, whether it’s mowing the lawn, unpacking the dishwasher, or doing the ironing. Get their chores done and try to do them with a smile on your face. If it is things that you simply can’t do, then think of getting a professional in to do them (window cleaning and a garden clean-up) and your partner will be amazed at how thoughtful you are.
Leave Simple Gifts Around the House
You don’t need a special occasion to buy them a good gift, and it doesn’t have to be expensive – just thoughtful. Simply wrap these and leave them with notes of appreciation around the house. They can’t be junk, but small useful gifts or treats that they like will be something anyone will appreciate. Don’t make a big deal about giving these gifts, just leave them around the house in places that you know they will be found.
Find a Time That’s Convenient for Both of You to Connect Daily
It is important to talk, and finding the right time to be able to open up and talk to your partner and those that you live with is a vital part of building a good relationship. Spend the same time regularly to just chat and discuss how things are going.
These are the simplest ways to stay in the good books of the people that you live with. We all make mistakes and are at risk of taking others for granted, but by doing a few of the suggested tactics as discussed here, you will be sure to remain on their good side and build reliable friendships with those that you live with and love.
